Bridges (Without Duracrete Fibre)
Concrete bridge decks are subjected to vehicle’s repetitive dynamic load. Concrete by nature is brittle and susceptible to damage.
Duracrete Fibre Projects
Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) develops properties to withstand repetitive load (flexural fatigue), ability to carry load after initial crack(toughness), abrasion resistance to reduce wearing of concrete surface and impact resistance to withstandhigh axle load (overloading). Test conducted by Florida Department of transportation show FRC can reduce crack initiation by 18% and crack propagation by 60%. FRC has been successfully used on several bridge decks. FRC is approved and specified by major design consultants including NESPAK, EA consulting, Loya Associates and Meinhardt.
