Silcrete micro-silica is recommended for high performance concrete and mortar applications. Following are recommended dosage in developing concrete mix with specific performance characteristics.

| 5% to 15% | By weight of cement but as an addition not replacement |
| 8% to 10% | High durability/ Low permeability such as bridge decks or parking structures |
| 10% to 15% | High strength columns |

Mixing and Handling
Caution must be used in exposed micro-silica applications, as concrete or mortar-containing micro-silica is darker than standard concrete. Micro-silica is very fine and dust may cause eye and respiratory irritation. Use good industrial hygiene practices (i.e. wear goggles and approved usage dust mask). For further handling and safety instructions, please consult the Material safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
