DuPont Typar Performance: Typar offers benefits of high tensile strength of woven geotextile as well as elongation of needle punch geotextile making it the most versatile geotextile.

Overview
DuPont™ Typar® SF has a high tensile strength, a high elongation, and also a high initial modulus which is the ideal combination of properties for geosynthetic applications (for comparison see also table).

DuPontTM Typar® SF offers an exceptionally high energy absorption potential combined with a high initial modulus

Energy:
Concept of energy absorption is represented by the area below the stress-strain curve. Products with large area indicates higher resistance to damage during installation.

Initial Modulus:
Typically stress at 5% strain is considered to determine the initial modulus. As showed in the graph, DuPont Typar Performance has a high initial modulus resulting in higher capacity to absorb external stress and low deformation. Road pavements underlain with Typar has excellent resistance to rutting.

DuPontTM Typar® SF is manufactured to a very high level of uniformity using a continuous on-line, ß-ray and ultrasonic monitoring process. Any product that fails to meet the required standards is rejected and recycled.

It can endure up to several weeks in direct sunlight, but prolonged exposure, particularly in tropical sunlight, can cause strength losses4.
